Dealer Signature
(Fact or Fallacy?)
The scientific method involves forming a hypothesis and then developing controlled experiments to either prove or disprove that hypothesis. Unfortunately, it is a fact of human nature that we often see what we want to see. Even scientists are not immune from this proclivity. I read some time ago where some scientists were debating the properties of light. There were two opposing groups who both conducted well conceived and controlled experiments. Astoundingly, both groups produced results that seemed to prove their opposing view points. Were both right, or were both wrong, or did both see what they wanted to see?
For years, roulette experts have debated the effect of dealer signature. Is it a tangible reality that can be tracked, measured, and proven to exist? Can it actually be beneficial to the player and help him overcome the house edge and be a long term winner? Many experts fervently believe in it and there have been several well known systems (some very expensive) devised to capitalize on the croupier’s supposed “signature”.
Dealer Signature in a roulette croupier supposedly occurs when mindless repetition and muscle memory causes him/her to release the ball in such a way that a predictable pattern of hits on the roulette wheel results. This pattern will manifest when numbers in certain sections of the wheel dominate for several spins. Or you might see numbers around the wheel hitting in what appears to be consistent intervals or patterns.
When I first began studying roulette, I believed in those who came preaching the Dealer Signature gospel. I used to go from wheel to wheel and from casino to casino with pad and pen in hand spending hours tracking various dealers and recording their spins. At the time I played a very expensive and very famous system that was based upon what was perceived to be Dealer Signature. However, no matter how diligent my efforts, consistent profits eluded me. There were too many inherent weaknesses in the system and on top of that, as I observed and tracked hundreds of live spins, some of the things I encountered caused me to begin to doubt the validity of Dealer Signature as a legitimate foundation for a roulette system.
I eventually gave up dealer tracking and more or less set roulette aside. If this was the only way to beat the game, it was just too much trouble for results that left much to be desired.
Later I acquired a roulette tester book that contained thousands of live consecutive spins. I discovered that the system I had been playing, which supposedly depended upon dealer signature, worked just as well, if not better, while using spins straight from this book. And the book had no indication of when new dealers took over the wheel, so there was bound to be some overlap where winning plays were set up by one dealer and completed by another. This prompted me to begin observing live situations more closely. Time and time again I saw the wheel follow cycles and patterns no matter who was dealing. I saw one dealer set up a play (according to the system I was using), then there would be a dealer change and the next dealer would hit the same section dead in the middle and complete a winning play. This happened time after time. It just didn’t seem to matter that much who was dealing.
I didn’t completely understand at the time that what I was seeing was not Dealer Signature, but it was actually a property of random numbers.
About this same time, I was also studying craps and an old pro turned me on to some of the tendencies and patterns of random numbers. I began intently focusing my studies in this area and was amazed to often see recurring cycles as well as definite tendencies that occurred time and again. I was astonished to find that random numbers were not totally random (this has since been proven by European mathematicians). There is a degree of predictability given certain sets of circumstances. This led to the realization that what the experts were mistaking for Dealer Signature was in fact nothing more than the occurrence of the normal tendencies of random numbers. After all, the roulette wheel is nothing more than a random number generator.
I am now convinced, after looking at this thing for years, that so-called Dealer Signature is a fallacy. Those who observe it and swear by it are simply seeing what they want to see. They have a hypothesis, or perhaps in this case, a belief, that Dealer Signature exists, therefore they look for it and find it. But what is actually occurring on a roulette wheel is a result of not only the physical mathematics of random numbers, but it is also the result of a mysterious force which emanates from a much deeper level. I won’t delve into that subject here because it would only be received and understood by those with very open minds who have the ability to conceive and believe that there is more to our world than what we can contact with our five senses.
The bottom line is that the only way to turn the tables on the casinos and beat the game of roulette long term is by exploiting these very real tendencies of random numbers. And after years of study and research, I created a method that does just that. It is called System 6+ Roulette and you can read about it on this web site.
